I attended OMAC Fall Camp 2002 this past weekend and it was awesome! During camp we learned Weapon Combatant training from Grandmaster Choi. Instruction in footwork and blocking and striking with the sword was given. We also fought full contact with the padded swords! It was very fun.

Master Holbrook taught Hapkido. We learned techniques for getting out of headlocks, defending against grabs to the wrists, arms and collar. We also discussed pressure points.

Other weapons were also taught. Staff forms using the DaeMahngChung foundation were taught. These forms are easy to learn since the foundation of the DaeMahng forms are already present, but the forms look very impressive and develop excellent weapon skill.

The thing I like the best was the Kimoodo Healing Arts class taught by GrandMaster Choi. We learned fundamental philosophy of Kimoodo Healing and were able to work with partners in groups to practice Kimoodo Healing Arts. It was incredible!!!

We also reviewed a huge amount of the MoogongRyu curriculum. This was very powerful and informative. Master Choi explained some of the finer points of Song Moo to the Sr. Belts as well as reviewing many forms with all ranks.

To finish up camp, we split into groups, and each group developed their own demonstration which consisted of Forms, Breaking, Weapons, and Forms. In only a short time, all groups were able to come up with creative and entertaining demonstrations. The winning team was rewarded with extra Ice Cream after camp was completed.

This years camp was awesome. I can't wait till Winter Camp beings!
